I’m so glad that you’re here, because there is nothing more that I love than sharing the joy of Music.

Playing, Singing and listening to Music are like breathing to me. I began playing Piano at the age of four and ever since, I have dedicated my life to teaching others Music. To me, Music is not a luxury: it is a necessity. Music not only brings immense joy, but it helps heal us from past hurts, traumas, and pain, in ways that science doesn’t even fully understand yet. Melodies are able to access the depths of our souls and have the capacity to truly transform us. Music connects us - it is a universal force. Listening and playing provides a myriad of benefits - and understanding the various elements of Music and Music Theory allows us to greater appreciate all that Music has to offer us on the cognitive, emotional, physical, psychological, and spiritual levels.

INTRODUCING HONOURING ST DOMINIC 2021 ALBUM

Honouring St Dominic contains 10 tracks with Piano accompaniment.  Imelda from www.talkingmusic.online composed music for all these tracks and used traditional Dominican texts for 9 of the 10 tracks.  She also performs all the vocal compositions. The instrumental compositions were produced through technological means.

Suited for:

1.    Congregations who wish to sing Hymns/Songs which reflect the Gospel and give honour to St Dominic. Suitable occurrence could include Processional Hymn/Song, Communion Reflection, Recessional Hymn/Song.
2.    Congregations who wish to sing music that is both accessible and prayerful in unison, in parts with guitar, piano or organ accompaniment or for congregations and religious orders who wish to sing unaccompanied.

3.    Choirs: Most of the Honouring St Dominic tracks are composed for Soprano, and Alto with some tracks having some Descant with Piano accompaniment.  Guitar.  However, they can be sung easily for a religious male community or for mixed voices.

4.    Retreat and Parish groups who may wish to meditate upon the Gospel texts and respond through song.

5.     People who use Music for meditative prayer. It is an excellent way to continue meditating on the Gospel and the Dominican charism.

6.     Anyone who wishes to introduce the Gospel and St Dominic to other people in an accessible way. (E.g.: Children, Grandchildren, Parishioners, Religious and Lay Single People and/or Families).

7.    Honouring St Dominic would also be beneficial to Catechists as a teaching tool.

INTRODUCING GOSPEL REFLECTION IN SONG.

Gospel Reflections in Song was composed during Covid lockdown.  Each Gospel Reflection song is based on a well known and loved Gospel passages from mainly from St John Gospel (e.g. I am the Way, the Truth and the Life). There is one Gospel Reflection in Song based on St Matthew’s Gospel (e.g. I am with you always) and a well-loved familiar Psalm 23 (e.g. The Lord is My Shepherd). There is also a Hymn to Divine Mercy.

Gospel Reflections in Song Album contains 11 tracks with Piano accompaniment.  Imelda from www.talkingmusic.online composed both texts and music as well as performing these Gospel Reflections.by harmonising and accompanying herself.
Lyrics of Verse 3 of ‘I Am the Way, the Truth and the Life’ were composed by Fr David Camilleri.
